Event Overview

So what can I expect on the event?

The Organising Team

HERO-CRA's experienced team will ensure that the event is delivered to a very high standard and that competitors will enjoy this Winter rallying adventure.

What cars are eligible?

All cars manufactured prior to the end of 1986 are eligible to enter, only vehicles produced before 1968 are eligible for overall awards.

But I don’t have a suitable car – Arrive and Drive

If you don’t have a suitable car why not take advantage of our Arrive and Drive scheme? HERO’s Arrive and Drive division have a fleet of 20 or so classic cars all prepared for regularity rallies. You can see details of the cars on the website and for more information or to have an individual quotation please contact Mark O’Donnell on 00 44 1656 740275 or mark@heroevents.eu

Do I need prior experience?

No, however as the event is held in the depth of Winter, the roads and conditions we encounter on this event can be daunting for a novice. We would welcome you to compete on the event, but would advise that you experience driving on ice and snow, both in the day and at night to give you a grounding. Also, the maps used on this event differ to the OS Maps used on our UK events.

How difficult is the event?

The roads and maps used are challenging, the car preparation required is more specialist due to the change in weather and climates we encounter. There could well be extended sections of driving on ice and snow over mountain passes.  As the event encompasses day and night driving over many surfaces and in many conditions, Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo is classified as EXPERT.

What Happens if I Breakdown

On all our events we have a number of mechanical assistance crews, there is generally a crew who are based at the lunch and overnight halts then depending on the number of entries at least one crew who will follow the route and provide emergency assistance to try and get you on your way again. Most of these crews have been with us for many years and it’s amazing to see the wide diversity of problems they are able to resolve – their services though can never be a substitute for good car preparation and regular use of a car prior to an event. We also provide a list of spare parts that you should carry, this list is based on items that we have learnt from experience are prone to failure but just as importantly we know can be easily changed during an event and are practical for you to carry in the competing car as they neither take up much space nor do they weigh too much.

Accommodation and Dining
•Included within the entry fee is accommodation in a twin / double room for the duration of the event (five nights, 21st -25th inclusive).
• We also include breakfast, lunch and evening meals and the Gala Presentation Dinner in Casino Square on the final night.
•Upgrades to single rooms are available for the payment of a supplement which reflects the additional cost.
•The night's accomodation prior to the event is not included.
