RM’s 2014 Monterey sale set a new collector car auction benchmark with a record $143.4 million in total sales, entering the history books as the highest grossing collector car auction of all time. The 2015 sale is expected to continue the tradition, lifting the gavel on a carefully curated roster of approximately 150 of the world’s most coveted automobiles. Extended to three days, this year’s collection is headlined by ‘The Pinnacle Portfolio: A rare collection of automoti ve distinction’, which will take center stage on Thursday, August 13. An exceptional grouping of just over 20 vehicles, this private collection comprises some of the greatest and most iconic European sports and racing cars of the 1950s and 1960s, juxtaposed against some of the world’s most coveted modern supercars. The most valuable and significant private collection ever brought to market, it is sure to be a focal point of this year’s Monterey car week.
