After a resounding success in its first edition, China Rendez-vous is proud to announce the second Bund Classic Concours d’Elegance, a tribute to the elegant world of classic cars, to be held at the iconic Villa at No. 1 Waitanyuan from 17th to 19th October, 2014. China’s prestigious international Concours is attracting more car collectors and automobile aficionados from across China and all over the world.

The first edition of Bund Classic, lead by sponsors Richard Mille, Bonhams, Citibank and Axa introduced a world of culture, glamour and the spirit of adventure embodied by the classic car world to Chinese automobile enthusiasts.

World-renowned judges were present to evaluate the cars at China’s Inaugural Concours d’Elegance, including Sandra Button, Chair of the world-renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Mr. Peng Gang took home the coveted “Best of Show” award for his beautiful 1925 Renault Model 45 Tourer and Mr Jason Huang, a major collector from Chengdu won the “Elegance Award, pre-1950” for his 1935 Auburn 852. In all, over 5,000 VIPS gathered at the historic No. 1 Waitanyuan and saw over 20 elegant automobiles displayed on the lawn.

In 2014, Bund Classic will dramatically increase in terms of size and influence by attracting over 50 classic cars from China, Asia Pacific, Europe and the US and tripling the amount space to be used on-site. Continuing its focus on creating fully integrated events, the show will feature high-end brands and accommodate more networking events and activities during the 3 day show. One of the attractions will be a dedicated space focusing on new technology in automobile manufacturing, allowing the 8,000 VIPs to share their passion.

“The inaugural Bund Classic was a great success,” noted James Knight, Group Motoring Director of Bonhams, the international auction house,  “There is clearly an interest in China for Collectors’ Motor Cars and Bonhams is very much looking forward to supporting the 2014 Bund Classic and developing the growth and appreciation of classic cars in China.”
